             Introductory Flight Screening (IFS) is the initial flight school program that the Navy established to be a screening process to accomplish an initial attrition tofind those unlikely to succeed in Naval Aviation.  The program is currently run in three locations across the country: Annapolis, MD for the NavalAcademy; Quantico,VA for the Marines during The Basic School; and Pensacola, FL for the other NROTC and OCS ascension programs.  The program is facilitated bycivilian flight schools in the areas with certain wickets set in place by the Navy.  The basic ones are: Score at least an 80% on the FAA Private Pilot Test, Solo within 13.5 hours and 30 days, Complete the program up to Solo Cross-Country in 50.  Current information for the program is located at the official web-site:
